Minerals Authority Begins Relocating Employees Back to Khartoum Headquarters

The Sudanese Mineral Resources Company announced on Monday that it has relocated 50% of its core staff from its temporary headquarters in Port Sudan back to the capital, Khartoum, with full relocation expected by the end of the month.
The move comes in line with Cabinet directives regarding the “Return to Khartoum” program after the capital was deemed ready for resumption of government operations.
Director-General Mohamed Taher Omar confirmed that the company’s full headquarters transfer will be completed by month’s end.
He reassured mining partners and clients that official services will remain accessible across all Sudanese states through regional office managers, ensuring smooth procedures and reducing administrative burdens following the relocation.
Omar extended thanks to the Red Sea State government, traditional leaders, and local communities for their hospitality during the company’s stay in Port Sudan.
He pledged to strengthen coordination with mining sector partners to advance the industry and achieve national economic goals during this transitional period.
