Sudan Participates in the 47th Annual Meeting of the IFSB Council of Governors

Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan, Amina Mirghani Hassan Al-Tom, participated in the 47th annual meeting of the Council of Governors of the Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB), held in Marrakech, Morocco, on December 10, 2025. The meeting was chaired and hosted by the Governor of Bank Al-Maghrib, Abdellatif Jouahri, with the participation of several governors from member states.
The discussions focused on the annual performance of the IFSB and the work of its technical committees concerning Islamic banking and finance standards.
During the meeting, the Sudanese governor expressed gratitude to the Kingdom of Morocco for its warm hospitality and reception. She highlighted Sudan’s pivotal role in the establishment of the IFSB and its contributions to advancing Islamic finance standards, noting that Sudan is among its founding members and early pioneers.
She reaffirmed the commitment of the Central Bank of Sudan to actively engage in the Council’s work, leveraging its extensive academic and practical expertise.
Governor Al-Tom also held several bilateral meetings with central bank governors aimed at enhancing banking cooperation, strengthening correspondent relationships, and promoting knowledge exchange.
Sudan’s Ambassador to Morocco, Mowada Omer Haj Al-Tom, also participated in the meetings.
