
The UN Security Council strongly condemned the deliberate drone attack on the UNISFA base in Kadugli, stating that targeting peacekeepers could constitute a war crime.
The Council welcomed the assistance provided by the Sudanese Armed Forces in treating the wounded, evacuating casualties, and returning peacekeepers’ bodies, reiterating full support for the UNISFA mission in Abyei.
Last week, a battalion of Bangladeshi peacekeepers stationed in Kadugli, South Kordofan, was attacked by a drone launched by RSF forces, resulting in six deaths and several injuries.
