Resumption of Ferry Services Between Halfa and the High Dam

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Nile Valley River Transport Authority, Rear Admiral Mohamed Adam Mohamed, announced the launch of the resumption of river navigation between the High Dam Port and Wadi Halfa River Port via the ferry Sinai within the coming weeks.

In press statements, he explained that his visit to Halfa city aims to assess the general situation at Wadi Halfa Port, meet with officials, and review the ongoing work to rehabilitate the port berths. He emphasized that the resumption of river navigation will significantly support voluntary return trips from sisterly Egypt, in addition to passenger movement through the High Dam and Halfa ports.

He noted that he held an extensive meeting with Abu Ubaida Mirghani Burhan, the Executive Director of Halfa Locality, during which special arrangements and the necessary preparations to receive river traffic in the upcoming period were discussed. He confirmed the locality’s readiness and responsiveness to overcome all obstacles at the port to resume ferry operations as they were in the past.
