Al-Juneid Sugar Farmers Issue Urgent Appeal to Save the Project

Al-Juneid sugar farmers reported dire conditions at the project and appealed to authorities to save it after it was looted and vandalized by the rebellious Rapid Support Forces militia.

Farmers described the project’s agricultural association as completely inactive since its formation, with no meetings held. They called on authorities to review the association’s work and decisions, stressing that it has not convened throughout its existence.

They noted that the Al-Juneid project has suffered from significant neglect, with no oversight visits from the commissioner or designated officials. The General Registrar for Agricultural and Animal Production Professions has also failed to conduct regular inspections.

Farmers questioned why the association has not been dissolved in line with similar agricultural associations addressed by Dr. Kamel Idris. They called on authorities to either reactivate the association, dissolve it, or provide necessary support, noting that all peaceful channels had been exhausted without response.
