Bank of Khartoum Denies Claims of Withdrawing Customers’ Balances

The Director of Corporate Communications at Bank of Khartoum, Magdi Amin, has denied claims circulating on some websites and social media platforms alleging that the bank has withdrawn funds from customers’ accounts, describing such allegations as illogical and lacking any rational basis.
He explained that funds subject to seizure are held pursuant to decisions issued by the Public Prosecution and remain in the customer’s account until a court order is issued. However, such amounts do not appear in the available balance, as the displayed balance reflects only funds that customers can access and use directly.
Amin stressed that the bank is fully committed to implementing instructions issued by judicial authorities in accordance with the law, underscoring the importance of accuracy in disseminating information and warning against being misled by false reports that could cause public confusion.
He also praised media outlets that adhere to professional standards and avoid sensationalism, affirming that Bank of Khartoum is a long-established banking institution regarded as a benchmark for the banking sector in Sudan and the region.
