New Economic Understandings for the Sudanese–Egyptian Joint Commercial and Industrial Committee
The preparatory meetings of the Sudanese–Egyptian Joint Commercial and Industrial Committee concluded in Khartoum, with the participation of high-level delegations from both countries.
The Sudanese side was headed by Ambassador Abdel-Azim Mohamed Al-Sadiq Al-Karouri, Director General of Arab and Asian Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, while the Egyptian side was led by Dr. Amani Al-Wassal, First Undersecretary of Egypt’s Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade.
The meetings discussed ways to enhance trade and investment cooperation between Sudan and Egypt, with a focus on exchanging expertise and expanding partnerships to support reconstruction efforts, particularly in the industrial sector.
Both sides emphasized the importance of continued coordination in industrial, customs, and trade fields, as well as benefiting from joint exhibitions to promote available investment opportunities. They also stressed supporting partnerships in export development, standards, and quality control sectors.
