The Krenoi Emergency Room in Sudan’s North Darfur state announced on Friday that more than 300 people have been killed on ethnic grounds during clashes that erupted in the area over recent days.
In a statement, the group confirmed the abduction of dozens of civilians and ransom demands, alongside widespread looting and theft targeting women’s and children’s belongings. It said civilians and displaced persons are living in catastrophic humanitarian conditions, lacking food, clean water, healthcare, shelter materials, and basic necessities.
The statement accused the Rapid Support Forces of mobilizing allied militias that carried out systematic violations with no regard for humanitarian principles, breaching international norms, international humanitarian law, and resolutions of the United Nations and the UN Human Rights Council.
The Emergency Room called for urgent pressure on the RSF to immediately halt violations against unarmed civilians and displaced persons, and to provide protection and security for those at risk.
