Vice-Chairman of the Sovereignty Council Malik Aqaar confirmed on Saturday that no decision had been made to dissolve the council.
In a statement to “Al-Muhaqiq” news site, Aqaar said, “I have no knowledge of rumors regarding dissolving the Sovereignty Council. We have not discussed dissolving it at all,” calling the leaks “bastard child” rumors with no legitimacy.
Regarding the council’s return to Khartoum to resume work, he stated that if the government returns, all institutions will resume operations. Recent rumors suggested a potential council dissolution while retaining members such as Team Shams El-Din Kabashi, Team Yasser Al-Atta, and several joint forces leaders.
