Ministry of Finance Expects Arrival of 1,500 Power Transformers in the Coming Days

The Ministry of Finance on Saturday launched the receipt of 400 electricity transformers out of a total of 4,000 designated for Khartoum State.
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, Abdullah Ibrahim, revealed that the ministry has overseen the completion of contractual procedures for the supply of 4,000 power transformers, with full commitment to settling their costs. He noted that the transformers will arrive in successive batches and be transported to Khartoum State as part of the ministry’s priority commitment to preparing an enabling environment for return to the state.
In the same context, the Director General of the Budget Department at the ministry, Shadia Gashi, stated during the launch ceremony at the Southern Port that an additional 1,500 transformers are expected to arrive in the coming days, with supplies continuing until the full required number is delivered. She emphasized the ministry’s strong focus on providing electricity and basic services to citizens as a top priority.
The procurement process was carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Energy, Customs Forces, the Sudan Ports Corporation, the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization, and specialized national companies.
