Arrangements to Resume Operations of Labor Offices in Khartoum

The Supreme Council for Human Development and Labor in Khartoum State held an informational meeting on Tuesday at the office of its Secretary-General, Zulfiqar Ali Mohamed, as part of efforts to review and implement directives issued by the Governor of Khartoum regarding the rehabilitation and maintenance of labor offices across the state.
During the meeting, the Secretary-General met with the Director of the Development Administration of Khartoum State, Mohamed Abdel Rahman, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of secretariat officials and department directors at the council.
The meeting discussed technical and administrative arrangements for resuming operations at labor offices, the academy, and vocational training centers, in addition to reviewing the progress of ongoing maintenance and rehabilitation work.
The meeting followed directives issued by the Governor of Khartoum during his inspection visit to the Supreme Council for Human Development and Labor, during which he pledged support for the council, rehabilitation of its headquarters, and the maintenance and rehabilitation of labor offices. He also stressed the need to activate training and capacity-building programs, boost morale, and make optimal use of available resources to build a more stable and development-oriented future.
In this context, Engineer Al-Naji Mohamed Ahmed, Director of the Development Administration in Khartoum State, explained that the administration has begun implementing a maintenance and rehabilitation program for labor offices in Omdurman, Bahri, and Jabal Awliya. He confirmed that the work has been completed and has entered the handover phase.
He added that the Development Administration’s efforts are being carried out in accordance with emergency plans for the current phase, based on the Governor’s directives and field visits to sites damaged by the war.
Ahmed noted that the 2026 plan will include the rehabilitation of the council’s headquarters, the academy, and vocational training centers as part of a broader foundation, reconstruction, and rebuilding strategy. He emphasized the importance of coordination and integration of roles between the state’s Development Administration and the Supreme Council for Human Development and Labor to ensure the success of maintenance and rehabilitation efforts.
