Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi underscored the importance of intensifying Egyptian-Saudi coordination on various issues of mutual concern and ongoing regional crises.
This came during his reception on Monday of Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, in the presence of Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Badr Abdel Aaty, Prince Musab bin Mohammed Al-Farhan, Adviser to the Saudi Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, and Saudi Ambassador to Cairo Saleh bin Eid Al-Hussaini.
According to the Egyptian presidency’s spokesperson, the meeting addressed several regional issues of common interest and reaffirmed the alignment of Egyptian and Saudi positions on the need to reach peaceful solutions to regional crises in a manner that preserves the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of states—particularly Sudan, Yemen, Somalia, and the Gaza Strip.
President El-Sisi also praised Saudi Arabia’s efforts to host an inclusive conference bringing together southern Yemeni components to engage in dialogue on the southern issue.
