Energy Ministry Offers Oil Investment Opportunities in Safe States

The Ministry of Energy inaugurated the resumption of operations from its main headquarters in Khartoum on Sunday, in the presence of Minister Engineer Consultant Al-Mu‘tasim Ibrahim Ahmed, Engineer Al-Sadiq Jaber, a member of the Steering Committee of the Undersecretary’s Office, along with several department directors, section heads, and a large number of ministry staff.
The minister and the undersecretary toured various departments to review workflow and ensure staff attendance.
The minister called on employees to intensify efforts and work with high morale to advance the country, expressing his happiness at meeting staff in their workplace after the war and pledging to resolve challenges related to their return.
He noted that his decision to cancel the electricity tariff increase was made in consideration of the hardships citizens are facing due to the war.
The minister urged staff to contribute to rehabilitating the ministry so it can return to normal operations.
He revealed the ministry’s plan for the current year in the oil sector, which includes offering investment opportunities in safe states, describing the oil fields as promising, in addition to efforts to resume operations at the Heglig oil field.
He also highlighted the ministry’s efforts in the electricity sector, particularly in Khartoum, where substantial work has been carried out to rehabilitate power stations and provide cables and transformers despite difficult conditions, assuring citizens that solutions to electricity shortages across all sectors are forthcoming.
Meanwhile, Dr. Abdel-Raafie Babiker, Secretary-General of the Workers’ Union at the Sudanese Petroleum Corporation, affirmed the union’s readiness to cooperate with management to boost production and rebuild what was destroyed by the war.
He stressed that the current phase requires collective effort and selflessness to restore the oil sector as a leading driver of the national economy, wishing progress for the country and victory for the armed forces.
