Companies Resume Chromium Production in Blue Nile State

The General Authority for Geological Research in Blue Nile State has launched a field mission organized by its regional office, with the participation of the Sudanese Company, the State Mining Authority, a representative of Rosaires locality, Mining Police, Mining Security, and other security agencies, to assess chromium mining activities in the state.

The mission headed to Rosaires locality, specifically the Al-Qura area, which is known for its high-quality chromium deposits. The authority noted that while some companies had previously been active and later suspended operations, several firms have now resumed work.

According to the authority, the visit aims to identify operating companies, assess inactive sites, and conduct technical and geological studies to determine ore extensions, in addition to carrying out geological surveys in neighboring areas. It also revealed the discovery of several promising sites under consideration for inclusion in the regional office’s chromium project.
