Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan: The RSF Are a Disaster That Infiltrated the Banking System and the State

The Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan, Amina Mirghani Hassan, said that the Empowerment Removal Committee had been used to serve the project of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia by weakening the country’s financial institutions.

She revealed details of her dismissal from her position by the Empowerment Removal Committee, stating: “The Rapid Support Forces used the committee to remove me and replace me with a person loyal to them.”

Speaking to the “Al-Shabaka Podcast” platform, Amina said the RSF represented a disaster that had infiltrated the banking system and the state, adding that it operated under an organized plan and carried out systematic destruction of the country.

In another context, the Central Bank governor praised the efficiency of Sudanese banks and their ability to resume activity and provide services to the public during the war, despite damage, looting of funds, and the destruction of banks and infrastructure caused by the militia. She stressed that the Sudanese banking system had overcome the crisis of war and regained its strength.

She also pointed to the most important legal and administrative measures taken by the state to curb the militia’s financial transfers and confiscate its assets.
