Minister of Energy, Engineer and Advisor Al-Mu‘tasim Ibrahim Ahmed, met on Tuesday at his office in Port Sudan with the Ambassador of the Republic of India to Sudan. The meeting discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy, oil, and investment, and both sides agreed on Sudan’s participation in India Energy Week at the end of 2026.

The talks explored opportunities for Sudan’s participation in this major international event, which would enhance the country’s presence on the global energy map and open new horizons for investment in the oil, gas, and renewable energy sectors, as well as technology transfer and the building of strategic partnerships with international companies and institutions.

Both sides underscored the importance of leveraging this event to support Sudanese-Indian cooperation in the energy sector, in a manner that serves Sudan’s energy security and economic development.

India Energy Week 2026 will be held from January 27 to 30, 2026, in Goa, India. The event is expected to attract more than 75,000 professionals and around 700 exhibiting companies from across the energy sector, making it a key platform for building international alliances and supporting the transition to safer and more sustainable energy systems.
