This came during his inspection visit on Tuesday to the headquarters of the Federal Ministry of Finance in Khartoum, where he reviewed workflow and performance.

Dr. Ibrahim explained that the ministry had not rushed its complete relocation from Port Sudan to Khartoum in fulfillment of its responsibility to maintain the regular flow of public revenues to the state.

He expressed hope for a strong resumption of work following the return of state institutions to operate from the capital, Khartoum, stressing the importance of digital transformation and the development of service systems to enhance financial oversight of government entities. He emphasized the need for concerted efforts, integrated roles, and the activation of all state institutions to boost revenues and achieve economic stability. The minister also extended his thanks to employees and regular forces for their efforts in securing and safeguarding state property and institutions.

For his part, Mohamed Nour Abdeldaim, State Minister at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, expressed his pleasure at the government’s return to the capital, underscoring the pioneering role of the Ministry of Finance in providing funding for development projects, procuring goods and services, supporting reconstruction, and managing numerous economic files. He added that the return of the Ministry of Finance to Khartoum State is not merely a geographical repositioning, but carries multiple signals and messages to various local and international stakeholders and partners. He anticipated the return of many regional and international organizations to Khartoum, which would support reconstruction efforts and help secure the necessary assistance from global development organizations to achieve economic development and national recovery.

In the same context, Ibrahim Al-Omda Khatir, representative of the Ministry of Finance employees, commended the ministry’s pivotal role during the country’s difficult circumstances. He noted that through the combined efforts of leadership and staff, the ministry succeeded in stabilizing the pillars of the state, financing the war effort in the “Battle of Dignity,” and ensuring the provision of basic services. He affirmed employees’ commitment to continuing efforts to mobilize resources, create a suitable environment for the return of refugees and internally displaced persons, and resume the path of construction and reconstruction.
