According to circulating reports, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is preparing to take an unprecedented legal step against the United Arab Emirates by supporting or initiating a case at the International Criminal Court concerning alleged violations by Emirati forces on Yemeni soil.
Sources indicate that the legitimate Yemeni government is considering submitting a comprehensive dossier to the ICC, including accusations of serious abuses in Yemeni prisons overseen or supported by Abu Dhabi. These alleged violations reportedly include killings, torture, sexual assaults, and enforced disappearances, which are said to be documented through human rights reports and multiple forms of evidence.
The information suggests that Riyadh has already begun laying the groundwork for this move by highlighting these alleged abuses through its official and semi-official media, signaling a notable shift in the tone of coverage toward its former ally in Yemen.
Observers believe that if this legal course proceeds, it could represent a significant political and legal blow to the UAE and reflects a previously unseen level of escalation in disagreements between the two parties.
