Historic Surge in Gold Prices in Sudan

Gold prices in Sudan recorded an unprecedented historic surge during Monday’s trading session, rising by $109.98, in line with the global increase in gold prices.
Abdelmonem Al-Siddiq, Head of the Sudanese Gold Exporters Division, told Al-Ahdath newspaper that the price of one gram of gold has exceeded 500,000 Sudanese pounds for the first time in history, indicating a strong shift toward gold as a store of value amid global wars, crises, and growing expectations of further conflicts.
The price of raw gold reached 503,000 pounds per gram, up from 481,000 pounds last week — an increase of 22,000 pounds, representing a 4.6% rise.
Internationally, the price of one ounce (28 grams) reached $5,096.43. Gold prices by purity were recorded as follows:
- 18-karat: $122.89 per gram
- 20-karat: $136.55 per gram
- 21-karat: $143.37 per gram
- 22-karat: $150.20 per gram
- 24-karat: $163.85 per gram
