Sudan and Qatar Discuss Enhancing Financial and Banking Cooperation
The Governor of the Qatar Central Bank, Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saud Al Thani, held a meeting with Sudan’s Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, and the Governor of the Central Bank of Sudan, Amina Mirghani Hassan Al-Toum.
The meeting addressed ways to enhance financial and banking cooperation between the two countries, reviewing key areas of existing partnership, including support for monetary stability, exchange of expertise in financial policies, and the development of banking coordination mechanisms.
The meeting comes amid accelerating regional efforts to strengthen economic integration and activate channels of technical and financial support among Arab countries.
Both sides emphasized the importance of building on the historical relations between Qatar and Sudan and expanding cooperation to include financial innovation and digital transformation in the banking sector, in line with current economic challenges and in support of sustainable growth opportunities.
