Egypt and France Discuss Latest Developments in Sudan

Egyptian Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdel Aaty discussed regional developments during a phone call with his French counterpart, Jean-Noël Barrot.

According to the official spokesperson for Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tamim Khallaf, the call addressed the evolving situation in Sudan. The Egyptian foreign minister stressed the importance of reaching a humanitarian truce as a step toward a comprehensive ceasefire, underscoring the need to launch an inclusive political process owned by the Sudanese themselves. He also highlighted the necessity of establishing safe humanitarian corridors to ensure the unimpeded delivery of aid to the Sudanese people.

Abdel Aaty reaffirmed Egypt’s firm position in support of respecting Sudan’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, as well as preserving its national institutions. He also briefed his French counterpart on Egypt’s efforts within the framework of the Quadripartite Mechanism.
