
The Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Dr. Lamia Abdel Ghaffar, affirmed that the government’s message is to achieve security and prosperity, noting that its plan focuses on strengthening institutions, promoting good governance, achieving political stability, and investing in infrastructure.
Speaking at a press conference held Saturday evening in Khartoum, attended by ministers of the “Hope Government” and officials from Khartoum State, Lamia confirmed that the national capital has recovered. She pointed to the efforts of the state leadership in supporting the return of the government with its full staff despite the exceptional circumstances facing the country.
Dr. Lamia reviewed the achievements of the Hope Government and its support for consolidating the values of justice, transparency, cooperation, and enhanced institutional communication, in addition to tightening administrative controls and procedures to ensure the smooth functioning of government work.
She also addressed government efforts to develop technological infrastructure, stressing the government’s commitment to digital transformation as a means of combating corruption and improving living standards. She noted that the Higher Economic Committee has been formed to advance the national economy.
The Minister of Cabinet Affairs praised the Ministry of Finance for its support of economic projects, stating that the government has made efforts in the agricultural sector and has taken steps to address irrigation and input supply challenges, as well as to develop livestock production. She noted that more than 3 million head of livestock have been exported, in addition to exports of processed meat, the creation of job opportunities, and the provision of 600,000 vaccine doses. She added that the government is moving toward prioritizing the agricultural and livestock sectors.
She also addressed the mining sector, noting that a comprehensive national vision has been developed to secure the sector, while production operations continue.
Lamia added that government efforts have succeeded in restarting 23 factories in Port Sudan within the industrial sector, in addition to the rehabilitation of the Giad Automobile Factory.
She further stated that the return of the executive government to Khartoum represents a major achievement, highlighting progress across several fields, most notably the approval of the Cybersecurity Law, investment in human capital and social development, and facilitating the work of international organizations and agencies to deliver assistance to citizens.
She also pointed to government steps to provide services for expatriates, unify the academic calendar, develop curricula, and rehabilitate education centers for people with special needs, in addition to achievements in health, social development, international cooperation, and trade.
