On Friday, the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereign Council and Commander-in-Chief of the Sudanese Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, visited the mosque complex of Sheikh Azraq Taiba in Al-Jazira State. He was received by Sheikh Ahmed Al-Reeh Abdullah Azraq Taiba, custodian of the Qadiriyya Arakiya Sufi order.
Al-Burhan said that victory over the terrorist Al-Dagalo militia would not have been possible without the prayers of righteous people and Quran students in religious schools, pointing to the honorable stance of Sufi orders and their alignment with the armed forces. He noted that when the war broke out, most citizens sought refuge with Sufi communities as places of reassurance and safety. He praised the people of the Abu Haraz area for standing firm in the face of what he described as brutal aggression and for teaching the enemy lessons in courage and bravery.
Al-Burhan stressed that there would be no more concessions, calling on the people of Taiba Sheikh Abdelbaqi to unite and stand together. He affirmed that the enemy is destined to be defeated and that the armed forces are victorious thanks to popular support.
He further stated that the state does not reject peace or ceasefires, but emphasized that any truce must not become an opportunity for the enemy to regroup. He added that anyone who lays down arms and chooses the path of peace would be welcomed, while those who incite against the country and the army would be held accountable. Al-Burhan pointed to the alignment of the Sudanese people, in all their components, with the armed forces in order to establish security and stability across Sudan.
