Minister of Livestock: Ten New Slaughterhouses Offered to Investors

Minister of Livestock and Fisheries, Professor Ahmed Al-Tijani Al-Mansouri, said the Agricultural Bank has approved financing for small-scale breeders in Khartoum State to boost production and productivity.
According to the Sudan News Agency, the minister explained that cows producing an average of about 10 pounds per day can gradually increase output to 20, 30, 50, and eventually up to 80 pounds per day, positively impacting the livelihoods of breeders and their families.
He noted that the Al-Baraka Complex project in Port Sudan has been implemented, and that a meeting was held with banks, during which Nile Bank approved financing for small breeders. The bank provides water services and a feed factory, while the ministry offers veterinary medicines, awareness and extension services, embryo transfer, and artificial insemination.
Professor Al-Mansouri confirmed that seven slaughterhouses have been rehabilitated, and that ten new slaughterhouses built to international standards, along with tanneries, are being offered to investors.
He added that livestock exports to Saudi Arabia and Egypt have not stopped during the war, noting that the financial linkage approved by the Ministry of Finance has been increased ninefold.
Regarding meat exports, the minister confirmed that shipments were carried out last week. He also said the Minister of Finance approved the continuation of VAT exemptions on livestock exports, which has had a positive impact on exporters, enhanced competitiveness in export markets, opened access to new markets, and supported the national economy.
The minister further emphasized efforts to resolve disputes between communities and tribes over grazing land, and to stabilize them through the establishment of farms producing meat and dairy products.
