Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation condemned an attack carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia on Friday, February 6, 2026, targeting World Food Programme (WFP) trucks with drones while they were transporting food aid to affected civilians in North Kordofan State.
In a press statement, the ministry said the attack occurred in the areas of Al-Lah Karim, Al-Sameeh, Al-Rahad, and the city of Um Rawaba, resulting in casualties and the destruction of humanitarian supplies designated for relief efforts.
The ministry stressed that targeting relief convoys and humanitarian assets constitutes a grave violation of international humanitarian law and the Geneva Conventions, and represents a deliberate attempt to undermine efforts to deliver aid to those in need.
The statement added that the attack was not an isolated incident but part of a broader pattern by the militia to obstruct humanitarian work and use food deprivation as a means of pressure against civilians. It called on the international community to condemn these practices and take measures to ensure accountability for the RSF militia and its supporters.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to full cooperation with the United Nations and its humanitarian agencies, and to securing unhindered access for aid deliveries to those entitled to receive them.
