Darfur Association in the UK Condemns Killing of 24 Civilians in Kordofan, Urges London to Designate RSF as a Terrorist Organization

The Darfur Associations Gathering in the United Kingdom strongly condemned attacks carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia against displaced civilians fleeing conflict zones in North Kordofan using drones, which resulted in the killing of 24 people, including women and children.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the group described the attacks and the targeting of humanitarian aid convoys as a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and a full-fledged war crime, reflecting a blatant disregard for civilian lives.
The gathering warned against attempts to replicate past scenarios of genocide and ethnic cleansing witnessed in the Darfur region and extend them to Kordofan, holding the United Arab Emirates and the militia responsible for exacerbating the suffering of millions and obstructing the delivery of life-saving assistance.
It issued a direct appeal to the British government to use its diplomatic leverage to pressure its ally, the UAE, to halt support for the militia, calling for the designation of the RSF as a terrorist organization and for an end to pressure on African political actors to neutralize their positions on the crisis.
The group also announced plans to organize a major lobbying event at the British Parliament on Wednesday, 11 February, to brief lawmakers on ongoing violations in Kordofan and Darfur, urging the Sudanese community in the UK to intensify engagement with their MPs to amplify victims’ voices and demand an end to the war of extermination and the pursuit of international justice.
