European Official Condemns Rapid Support Forces Attacks on Aid Convoys: “They Will Not Go Unpunished”

A European official has condemned attacks carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia against a World Food Programme aid convoy, as well as the targeting of a bus carrying displaced civilians and health facilities, including Al-Kuweik Hospital, describing the assaults as grave and blatant violations of international humanitarian law.

Wolfram Vetter said in a post on the platform X that these attacks constitute a serious breach of all humanitarian norms and international laws, stressing that they “will not go unpunished” and that “international accountability is coming.”

In the same context, writer and activist Dr. Nasser Jalal stated that the targeting of civilians and aid convoys is not new behavior for the RSF militia, emphasizing that what occurred “is neither the first nor will it be the last.”

Jalal added that the RSF operates under a logic of “total impunity,” noting that what he described as “Emirati protection” contributes to obstructing international accountability mechanisms. He warned that the world is witnessing a dangerous return to an era in which immunity can be bought with money.

Jalal directly accused the Emirati leadership of using its political and financial influence, through its relations with the United States and Israel, to delay the course of justice, while Sudanese civilians continue to pay the highest price as violations persist and the war escalates.
