Two primary schools in the city of Dilling, South Kordofan State, were subjected to an aerial attack carried out by drones affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, resulting in extensive destruction to buildings and school property.
Local sources told Darfur24 that the attack occurred at approximately 9:00 a.m. yesterday, using a drone believed to belong to the RSF and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement–North (SPLM-N). The sources said the drones flew over the city and struck, in addition to the two schools, military sites including the headquarters of the 54th Brigade and the mountain locally known as “Al-Dash” in the city center, as well as other locations.
According to the sources, the bombardment caused severe damage to the two schools, destroying parts of classrooms and completely damaging offices and desks, raising concerns over the suspension of the educational process and further complications for schooling in the city.
The attack reportedly lasted for hours, spreading panic among residents, particularly women and children. Fear gripped residential neighborhoods, forcing many families to remain inside their homes, although no civilian casualties were reported.
