
The Sudanese Armed Forces’ Engineering Corps has handed over a number of recovered historical artifacts and treasures to the Department of Museums and Antiquities, after they were retrieved during security operations carried out in the city of Omdurman.
The handover ceremony took place at the Engineering Corps headquarters in the presence of the Commander of the Omdurman Military Zone and Commander of the Engineering Corps, Major General Dhafer Omar Abdel Qader, alongside representatives from the Ministry of Culture, Information and Tourism, the Department of Museums and Antiquities, and several military unit commanders.
Officials stated that the recovered items include rare antiquities representing part of Sudan’s historical heritage, noting that they were seized during internal security operations and patrol missions conducted by the Omdurman Military Zone forces and the Engineering Corps.
