Three Children Killed in Fire at Sudanese Refugee Camp in Chad

Eyewitnesses reported on Sunday that three children from the same family were killed and several others were seriously injured after a large fire broke out at the “Miji” camp for Sudanese refugees in eastern Chad.

Witnesses told Darfur24 that the fire occurred last Thursday, destroying several shelters and causing significant material losses among camp residents.

They explained that the blaze started in shelters built from straw and plastic materials before quickly spreading to nearby homes due to strong winds, which complicated efforts to contain the fire and resulted in several homes being completely burned down.
