Wheat Harvest to Launch Next Week in Gezira Scheme

The Governor of the Gezira Scheme, Engineer Ibrahim Mustafa Ali, announced that the wheat harvest season will officially begin across all project sections next week.

In a press statement on Tuesday, he confirmed that preparations for the harvest have been completed, noting the readiness of machinery and the availability of harvesters.

In the same context, the Director of the Agricultural Administration at the Gezira Scheme, Engineer Ali Ahmed Ibrahim, conducted a field tour on Tuesday to inspect northern sections and review final arrangements for the harvest, confirming full preparedness.

He also revealed that a team from the National Seed Administration at the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation has arrived at the project to conduct final certification of seed production areas under the supervision of the Seed Multiplication Unit.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Agricultural Director for Gezira sections, Engineer Ismail Abdel Mohsen, reviewed ongoing harvest preparations with the management of Wadi Shaeer section and inspected the readiness of Wad Habouba and Al-Musallamiya sections.

Similarly, the Deputy Director of Agricultural Administration for Managil sections, Engineer Yasser Abdel Jalil Naqd, carried out a field visit to East Managil, where limited wheat harvesting has already begun, with early indicators pointing to high productivity.
