{"id":11247,"date":"2024-01-13T21:10:10","date_gmt":"2024-01-13T21:10:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sudanevents.com\/?p=11247"},"modified":"2024-01-13T21:10:10","modified_gmt":"2024-01-13T21:10:10","slug":"agar-no-referring-of-sudanese-questions-to-igad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sudanevents.com\/index.php\/2024\/01\/13\/agar-no-referring-of-sudanese-questions-to-igad\/","title":{"rendered":"Agar: No Referring of Sudanese Questions to IGAD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Port Sudan &#8211; Sudan Events<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Vice President of the Transitional Sovereign Council, Malik Agar Air, has confirmed that there is no point in referring the Sudan issue to IGAD, and noted the country\u2019s declared position on the organization\u2019s upcoming summit.<br \/>\nAgar met at his residence in Port Sudan today (Saturday) with the Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General for Sudan, Ramadan Lamamra.<br \/>\nHe described the meeting as friendly and said that he discussed many issues, especially since the envoy was on an exploration trip to learn about the Sudanese vision with the aim of developing a road map to present to the Secretary-General of the United Nations on how to address the crisis in Sudan.<br \/>\nAgar explained that the war in Sudan has regional and international dimensions that must be discussed.<br \/>\nHe pointed out that the meeting discussed the situation in the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea region, the upcoming IGAD summit, and Sudan\u2019s position towards that event.
