The film is written and directed by Sarah Suleiman, starring Aya Tariq, Yassin Raif, Ahmed Raif, and Aya Ahmed, and edited by Imad Maher.<br \/>\nIt is the result of a lengthy research prepared by Sarah entitled \u201cBody Politics in the Sudanese Feminist Movement.\u201d The movie provided a detailed historical account of the period 1900-1971. \u201c<br \/>\nHeroic Bodies\u201d delves into the heart of Sudanese society and highlights the customs and traditions that violate women\u2019s bodies, such as the practice of genital mutilation known as circumcision, mutilation, male-dominated society, etc. I was pleased to be among those interviewed by Sarah in my capacity as a professor of modern and contemporary Sudanese history.<br \/>\nThe movie participated in several international festivals and won awards. The movie was followed by an interview with the director, conducted by film critic Shahinda Mohamed .
