Dutchman Virgil van Dijk, Liverpool defender, is looking forward to leading his team to win the League Cup, when it meets Chelsea in the final of the competition, on Sunday.
\nThe date between Liverpool and Chelsea will be renewed in the final of the tournament at the ancient Wembley Stadium in the British capital, London, after the two teams previously played in the same round at the same stadium in the 2021-2022 season, but this confrontation witnesses Van Dijk\u2019s first final after he became captain of the Red Team.
\nVan Dijk, who was named best player in the tournament final two years ago after leading Liverpool to win the title after winning on penalties over Chelsea, spoke about his ambitions for the upcoming confrontation.

\nLiverpool is competing for 4 titles this season, as it currently sits at the top of the English Premier League standings, 4 points ahead of its closest competitor, Manchester City, the title holder in the last three seasons. It also reached the round of 16 in the European League and advanced to the fifth round in the FA Cup.
\nVan Dijk spoke about German Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool coach, announcing his departure from the team at the end of the current season, which came a few days after the team reached the League Cup final.
\n\u201cCertainly, Klopp\u2019s imminent departure constitutes an additional incentive for us during the remainder of the current season.” The Liverpool captain said. \u201cI think everyone is reacting differently to the news, as we have all said over the past two weeks, this has given all the players the opportunity to show their reaction.\u201d Dijk continued.
