The Sudanese revolution began in the Classroom
\nFrom Kassala to Khartoum
\nTo spread the light of education
\nFrom the North to the west, from the South to the East
\nAnd pave the way for the nation
\nTo attain emancipation<\/p>\n

But the killers were faster
\nTo put out the candle
\nThat you used to handle
\nAnd plant the pleasure of learning in our children,
\nIn our women and men<\/p>\n

They killed the teacher
\nWho paves the way for the future
\nThe future of all kids<\/p>\n

They killed the man with a (tool)
\nIn cold blood, with flood of blood
\nThey made the (hole)
\nNot in his body but in his soul
\nIn the soul of the whole generations
\nIn fact, in the soul of all the nation<\/p>\n

With pain, with great pain
\nThey hurt the spirit of our children
\nAs they pierced their daggers in their little hearts
\nDeprived them from the science and the arts<\/p>\n

When the kids came to school that day
\nThey were all happy and gay
\nReady to learn the ABC and some arts
\nBut when the lesson was about to start
\nThey found out with all the dismay
\nThat their teacher was unable to show up
\nAnd he was late for that day
\nBut nobody dared to tell them the truth or say
\nWhy the teacher was late
\nAnd the only thing they had to know
\nThat (Ahmed Alkhair) had passed away
\nTo pave the way for their bright future
\nBecause he was their teacher<\/p>\n

He was the only one among the few
\nWho really knew
\nHow to make them refined with knowledge
\nEquipped with skills
\nTo handle the pen, not the gun
\nTo write and spell and not to kill
\nBut always learn with pleasure and fun
\nAnd think high
\nAnd spire to the sky
\nBut to think high
\nAnd spire to sky
\nWith great imagination
\nThrough the pleasure of education<\/p>\n

He was the one who used to make them hopeful
\nHappy and joyful
\nBut the killers took off his soul
\nAnd terminated his role
\nTo educate and please the boys and girls
\nOf the Sudan<\/p>\n

\nWe are all ashamed to tell the story that took place
\nAnd the news that spread through the space<\/p>\n

We are all ashamed to tell the story that was to boom
\nFrom Kassla to Khartoum
\nAnd sadly leaked into our classrooms
\nInto the ears of the kids
\nTo betray the killers
\nWho denied the role of the teacher
\nWho makes the future
\nAnd engineers the fate of all nations
\nThrough the pleasure of education<\/p>\n

\nWe hope in peace you sleep
\nBut we, we will keep, to cry and weep
\nThe fate of the teacher, the fate of all teachers
\nAnd the fate of our future<\/p>\n

\nBut peacefully sleep in your last resort

Ahmed Alkhair was a teacher, who had been tortured to death by inserting an iron bar in his back and bled to death, in Kassala in East Sudan.
