{"id":22113,"date":"2024-05-17T05:30:54","date_gmt":"2024-05-17T02:30:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sudanevents.com\/?p=22113"},"modified":"2024-05-17T05:30:54","modified_gmt":"2024-05-17T02:30:54","slug":"railway-operational-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sudanevents.com\/index.php\/2024\/05\/17\/railway-operational-plan\/","title":{"rendered":"Railway Operational Plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Sudan Events &#8211; Rehab Abdullah<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Finance Minister Jibril Ibrahim Mohamed has pledged to overcome the challenges and obstacles facing the Railway Authority\u2019s performance.<br \/>\nDuring his meeting with the Minister of Transport, Abu Bakr Abu Al-Qasim, and the Director-General of the Railway Authority, Walid Mahmoud, he promised to work to remove any injustice that may have occurred to railway workers in applying the approved salary structure.<br \/>\nThe Railway Authority announced<br \/>\nAn operational plan includes reopening railway lines to transport goods through safe sectors extending from the Ashkit and Halfa crossing to Shendi and Khartoum in the south, and from Kassala and Gedaref to the assembly area in Haya in the Red Sea State, with the aim of enhancing the transport of goods at low costs, especially for long distances, as well as supporting the transport of Humanitarian aid and relief.<br \/>\nThe meeting discussed investment and development plans for the main stations to increase revenues and deal with the encroachments of some states on the Authority\u2019s property and lands, in coordination with the relevant authorities.<br \/>\nIssues related to weak salaries and proposals to improve service conditions were also raised in light of the Authority\u2019s weak revenues and its inability to cover its expenses and salaries from its own resources.<br \/>\nThe attendees agreed that any wage increase should be in line with adjustments to the state\u2019s general wage structure, taking into account the Cabinet\u2019s decision to freeze wage increases.<br \/>\nThe meeting emphasized the importance of the role of the Railway Authority in the national economy and the necessity of restructuring it to enhance its administrative, commercial, and investment role.
