The war in Sudan, which broke out more than a year ago, was present on the summit\u2019s agenda. In the speeches delivered during the summit session, the Arab summit explicitly called for a ceasefire and engaging in negotiations between the Sudanese armyand the Rapid Support Militia (RSF).<br \/>\nLive dialogue<br \/>\nThe Chairman of the African Union Commission, Moussa Faki, said that there is an \u201curgent necessity\u201d for direct dialogue between the Sudanese army and the RSF, \u201cindependent of foreign interference,\u201d as he put it.<br \/>\nResolving the crisis<br \/>\nThe announcement of the Arab League summit in Bahrain called on the Sudanese army and the RSF to engage directly in initiatives to resolve the crisis. He also called for adherence to the Jeddah Agreement to reach a ceasefire in Sudan.<br \/>\nThe Arab Summit expressed solidarity with Sudan in preserving its sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity and preserving the Sudanese state institutions, at the forefront of which are the armed forces. It called on Arab leaders to commit to implementing the Jeddah Declaration in order to reach a ceasefire that would guarantee the opening of humanitarian relief paths and the protection of civilians.<br \/>\nThe Arab Summit urged the Sudanese government and the RSF Militia to engage seriously and effectively with initiatives to resolve the crisis, including the Jeddah Platform, neighboring countries and others, in order to end the ongoing conflict, restore security and stability in Sudan, and end the plight of the Sudanese people.<br \/>\nSilencing the guns<\/p>\n<p>Musa Faki said during a speech he delivered at the opening of the Arab Summit in the Bahraini capital, Manama, on Thursday, that the dialogue must be direct between the Sudanese army and the RSF Militia to silence the guns in Sudan.<br \/>\nThe President of the Sovereign Council, Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, did not participate in the Arab Summit, and Sudan\u2019s participation in the Arab Summit was limited to the Acing Foreign Minister, Awad Hussein Ali.<br \/>\nReviving negotiations<br \/>\nSudanese Foreign Minister Awad Hussein Ali confirmed the government\u2019s agreement to go to the Jeddah negotiations, in statements on the sidelines of his participation in the summit, which began with a meeting of Arab foreign ministers on Tuesday.<br \/>\nOn the other hand, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal Bin Farhan said that his country, along with the United States of America, looks forward to reviving negotiations between the Sudanese army and the RSF Militia to stop the war in Sudan. During the Arab Summit, he expressed Saudi Arabia\u2019s concern about the recent military escalation in Sudan.<br \/>\nOn the table of the Arab Summit is the Palestinian issue and the Sudanese file, after a year of war between the army and the RSF Militia, in addition to peace issues in the Middle East.
