The Ministry of Irrigation and Natural Resources has denied the existence of any manifestations of the collapse of the Merowe Dam or the existence of any risks, as a result of some technical problems that the dam administration did not care about, according to what was reported by some media outlets, and confirmed that the situation in the Merowe Dam is at its best, indicating that it is the most modern in terms of design and the most lucky in using dam safety technology.
\nThe Ministry confirmed in a statement that the Merowe Dam has received technical care from experts and specialists since its establishment, as this care was formed in the form of higher technical committees that have been following up the stages of construction and operation of this dam since it was an idea until now. The statement indicated that the dam has a safety department that is responsible for daily and periodic monitoring and measurement and evaluating the condition of the dam by analyzing the results of device and equipment measurements.
\nIn addition to the presence of safety devices and systems and monitoring and measuring points exceeding two thousand (2000) points. It works adequately and accurately to monitor any aspects that may affect the safety of the dam, including measuring the amounts of water leakage through the solid body and the rubble and earth embankments.
