Security Council session that was held in New York on Tuesday witnessed a heated debate between Sudanese and Emirati delegates to the United Nations UN and they exchanged accusations regarding responsibility for fueling the conflict in Sudan.
\nSudan’s delegate to the United Nations, Al-Harith Idris, renewed his accusation that the UAE supports the “Rapid Support RSF Militias” while addressing the meeting, saying that the Sudanese government has evidence of this.
\nThen, the UAE delegate to the United Nations, Mohamed Abu Shahab, requested an intervention during which he described the Sudanese delegate’s accusations as “ridiculous”. He said that the Sudanese ambassador “represents the Sudanese Armed Forces SAF which is one of the parties to the conflict in Sudan”.
\nHe explained that his country has continued to provide support for humanitarian operations in Sudan.
\nHe added: “The representative of the Sudanese Armed Forces SAF should be asked why he does not come to the Jeddah talks if he seeks to stop the conflict and the suffering of civilians? And why are they obstructing the flow of aid? What are you waiting for? You must stop exploiting an international platform such as the Security Council for outbidding and instead stop the conflict that you started.”
\nThe Sudanese representative immediately requested an intervention, in which he responded to the Emirati delegate, saying: \u201cWhoever wants to make peace in Sudan must come with a sound heart.\u201d
\nHe stressed that the UAE is the one that sponsors the typical and ethnic terrorism in Sudan, and this was proven by the report of the Committee of Experts since December 2023.<\/p>\n

He continued, addressing the members of the Security Council, \u201cWe have mobilized all the data, evidence and pictures for you and submitted them to your esteemed council for discussion, but the UAE, through its actions and evil, obstructed the meeting in its required form until your council, as I told you, took the remaining mile, which is to condemn the UAE for its aggression.
\nThe UAE is condemned, and the condemned is not a partner in peace.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
