They also indicated that hundreds of heads of cattle were looted and taken into Ethiopian territory.<br \/>\nAbdullah Ahmed, a livestock owner in Al-Quraisha locality, revealed in a statement to Sudan Tribune that Ethiopian militias have appeared in large numbers since June along the border strip villages, and have carried out several operations to loot livestock, farmers and charcoal traders, in an attempt to prevent Sudanese farmers from cultivating their agricultural lands with the onset of rains.<br \/>\nAbdullah Ahmed indicated that he was subjected to looting operations by armed Ethiopian militias supported by the authorities of the Amhara region.<br \/>\nHe said that these militias looted 140 heads of sheep at gunpoint last week in the \u201cShai Beit\u201d area, one of the Ethiopian settlements inside Sudanese territory, where Amhara nationalist forces and militias are stationed to support Ethiopian farmers in cultivating Sudanese lands.<br \/>\nAbdullah warned against targeting the militias and blocking the road for farmers and shepherds in the absence of military and security services and the lack of adequate protection.
