Commissioner General of Trade in Gedaref State, Hassan Mohamed Ali Abu Auf, revealed obstacles facing the implementation of the electronic export contract.
\nHe attributed this in his statement to (Sudan Events ) to the fact that the branches of the Bank of Sudan in the states do not have the capacity to implement the contract from the technical aspects.
\nAbu Auf affirmed the need for the Capital Markets Department at the Bank of Sudan to provide technical support to the bank branches in the states to work with the electronic export contract, adding that the Customs Department needs guidance from the presidency of the department to approve the forms for inventorying exports and imports, adding that the states look at the Commissioner with an eye on revenues and fees, and affirmed the need to reduce the administrative shadow of the private sector and reduce export costs and strengthen the competitiveness of Sudanese exports and products in global markets.
\nHe affirmed that their work faces many challenges, including weak capabilities and lack of support from the Ministry of Finance, addition to the complications associated with renewing records for exporters and importers and the suffering of companies and businessmen in providing documents lost as a result of the war.
\nHe affirmed the need to simplify and reduce procedures and reduce fees to support efforts aimed at maximizing the country’s foreign exchange revenues. Abu Auf held a meeting with the Border Traders Division in the state, headed by Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, in the presence of the Director of the Border Trade Department in the Economic Administration, Khaled Noah.
\nThe meeting discussed the problems and obstacles that hinder the progress of commercial work in the state and the means to overcome them, especially those related to border trade and obtaining a commercial register.
\nAbu Auf provided a detailed explanation of the objectives of the Trade Office in Gedarif state, particularly those represented in reducing administrative shadow and accelerating procedures.
\nThe attendees agreed to conduct an inspection visit to the Galabat area to implement the border trade agreement that was recently signed in the presence of the former Minister of Trade, Al-Fateh Abdullah Yousuf , in addition to implementing the form for inventorying exports and imports and following up on the implementation of border trade.
