{"id":33831,"date":"2024-10-05T02:43:02","date_gmt":"2024-10-04T23:43:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sudanevents.com\/?p=33831"},"modified":"2024-10-05T02:43:02","modified_gmt":"2024-10-04T23:43:02","slug":"minawi-we-eliminated-the-elite-militia-in-north-darfur","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sudanevents.com\/index.php\/2024\/10\/05\/minawi-we-eliminated-the-elite-militia-in-north-darfur\/","title":{"rendered":"Minawi: We Eliminated the \u201cElite\u201d Militia in North Darfur"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"auto\"><strong>Sudan Events \u2013 Agencies<\/strong><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Governor of the Darfur region and leader of the Sudan Liberation Movement, Minni Arko Minawi, announced the elimination of the \u201celite\u201d Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia in North Darfur following fierce battles led by the joint forces in the northern part of the capital of North Darfur.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Minawi, according to Sudan Tribune, said, \u201cThe battle of Siyah that took place on Tuesday and lasted for about 12 hours completely wiped out the elite RSF forces in North Darfur.\u201d<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He pointed out that their forces, deployed on the outskirts of Milait and Siyah, aimed to secure the flow of humanitarian aid. However, the RSF mobilized a number of units to attack them, transferring forces from several areas, including Khartoum and North Kordofan, with 600 combat vehicles, including a significant number of armored cars.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Minawi added, \u201cThe RSF\u2019s plan was to eliminate this force and then invade El Fasher.\u201d<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He mentioned that the militia set up several ambushes before the joint force engaged them with six groups. He added, \u201cWe eliminated four groups during the battle while two groups fled.\u201d<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He explained that the RSF\u2019s plan was to destroy the joint force\u2019s convoy and then invade the city of El Fasher.
