During this visit, the team is scheduled to meet with national institutions concerned with implementing Resolution 1591, which enforces an arms embargo on Darfur.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The National Coordination Office for monitoring the implementation of Resolution 1591, which falls under the High Committee for Coordination with the UN and is chaired by Sovereign Council member and Assistant Army Commander Ibrahim Jaber, held discussions with the Security Council experts.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The head of the Coordination Office, retired Major General Ezz Al-Din Othman Taha, stated in a press briefing that they briefed the team on \u201cthe extent of violations and assaults committed by the RSF militia against civilians in Darfur and several other Sudanese states.\u201d<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">He explained that the visiting team was updated on the current situation in Sudan and Sudan\u2019s efforts to achieve peace.
