Gen. Salah Al-Sheikh, criticized the move, arguing that it could incentivize smuggling and deepen economic stagnation. He expressed surprise at the customs dollar hike while the Central Bank of Sudan is attempting to lower free market rates, remarking, \u201cIt seems the government team is not aligned on anything.\u201d<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Economist Dr. Abdel Azim Al-Mahal warned that the increase would negatively impact imports, as importers already face challenges such as high shipping costs and customs duties.
