Sadiq Mohamed Al-Azraq, issued an emergency order banning the possession and trading of Sudanese currency notes in the 500-1000 pound denominations, which have been withdrawn from circulation, effective December 24.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The emergency order stated that this step was taken based on a directive from the Central Bank of Sudan, which prohibited the possession and trading of any of the withdrawn notes after the specified date. This includes buying, selling, trading, exchanging, or attempting to smuggle or conceal the notes.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The decision allows the Armed Forces, police, and the General Intelligence and Security Service to enter any buildings, conduct searches, arrest individuals, and seize money, stores, or items suspected of being involved in violations of this order for investigation or trial purposes.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The order stipulates severe penalties for anyone who commits, participates in, assists, or conceals any of the prohibited actions under this order.
