He was accompanied by Sudan\u2019s ambassador to the Netherlands, several diplomats, and Abubakar Ahmed, the liaison between the Sudanese government and the ICC.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">According to Al-Taghyeer, Taifour and his delegation sat in a designated public gallery behind a glass partition overlooking the courtroom. Civil activists from various countries, journalists, and members of the prosecution office also attended the session.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The session began at around 9:30 a.m. local time and featured closing arguments.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Prosecutor Karim Khan, accompanied by a nine-member team, opened the proceedings, while Koshyb sat at the back of the courtroom with his defense team, led by Cyril Laucci and comprised of six lawyers.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Koshyb is being tried at the ICC after surrendering himself in 2019 on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Darfur between August 2002 and April 2004.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sudan Events \u2013 Agencies Sudan&#8217;s Attorney General, Al-Fateh Taifour, attended on Wednesday the trial of Ali Abdelrahman Koshyb at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague.
