They fear that the American reluctance might extend to EU member states, leading to a decrease in support for Ukraine. As a result, they will convene a summit in Brussels on December 19, 2023, dedicated to the Ukrainian situation, potential negotiations, and what role European countries can play if Trump decides to significantly reduce U.S. aid to Kyiv.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The sources in Paris suggest that it is still &#8220;premature&#8221; to talk about negotiations anytime soon, as they remain &#8220;hypothetical&#8221; and closer to &#8220;trial balloons.&#8221; It is no secret that Moscow is waiting for the possibility that a Trump administration will be more &#8220;lenient&#8221; and &#8220;understanding&#8221; of its demands, while also allowing more time to secure further control over eastern Ukraine.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The Kremlin highlighted Trump\u2019s recent statement opposing the use of U.S. missiles to target Russian regions, aligning with their stance. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said, \u201cTrump\u2019s statement fully matches our position, and his view of the reasons behind the escalation aligns with ours&#8230; It\u2019s clear that Trump understands what\u2019s causing the situation to escalate.\u201d<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Since joining NATO is unlikely, Europeans are considering sending European forces to Ukraine &#8220;individually,&#8221; without NATO\u2019s umbrella, although these countries are NATO members. However, this development would only occur after the war halts or a ceasefire is reached.
