Ukrainian forces attacked an oil facility in the Oryol region (western Russia) on Friday night, causing a fire, according to local authorities who described the drone assault as “massive.” Andrey Klychkov, the region’s governor, confirmed on Saturday that Ukrainian drones struck a “fuel infrastructure facility” in Oryol, leading to a fire.<\/div>\n

Klychkov, in a statement on Telegram, provided no further details about the targeted site but mentioned that 11 drones were shot down in the region. He added that there were no injuries, and the fire was brought under control.<\/div>\n

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces stated that they targeted “Stalnoy Kon” in the Oryol region, approximately 165 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. “This is one of the largest oil facilities on the outskirts of Oryol,” the statement added, describing it as part of the “military-industrial complex” supplying the Russian military. Images reportedly showing the attack, shared by Russian media, depicted plumes of smoke rising from the fire during the night. A video circulating on social media showed a massive blaze at an industrial facility.<\/div>\n

Meanwhile, in the Belgorod region, a 9-year-old boy was killed in a Ukrainian drone attack that struck a house in the town of Maisky, according to regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov. The boy\u2019s mother and his 7-year-old sister were injured and hospitalized.<\/div>\n

Ukraine frequently carries out drone strikes on Russian territory, targeting military and energy infrastructure. On Friday night, Russia launched an attack on Ukraine using 132 drones, 130 of which were intercepted, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.<\/div>\n

The Russian military reported on Saturday that they had downed around 40 enemy drones overnight and in the morning, particularly in Russian regions bordering Ukraine.<\/div>\n
