The ambassador urged the African Union to condemn these remarks due to their grave implications, especially considering that President Museveni is the head of the high-level committee of African Presidents tasked by the African Union Peace and Security Council with monitoring the Sudanese issue.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Al-Zein pointed to the continued and extensive external support for the Janjaweed militia, including weapons, ammunition, and mercenaries, and the African Union&#8217;s silence in condemning this. He called on the African Union to take a clear stance regarding the involvement of foreign mercenaries from many countries, including Colombia in Latin America, who are fighting alongside the Rapid Support Forces against the Sudanese people.
