The Minister of Industry, Mohassen Ali Yaqoub, emphasized the importance of the mineral water and juice sector in meeting local market needs during the war, which saw the destruction of all factories in the sector. She noted that the number of factories in operation had reached 7, with several others under construction and set to start production soon.<\/div>\n

On Tuesday, the Minister visited the Haya Mineral and Carbonated Water Factory, accompanied by Major General Salah Ahmed Ibrahim, Director General of the Customs Forces, and the Executive Director of the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization, Abbas Mohamed Ali.<\/div>\n

The minister praised the factory\u2019s excellence in adopting modern technology, adherence to standards, quality, and high production capacity, considering it a source of pride for the national industry. She also commended the factory’s management and their national spirit for investing at this critical time.<\/div>\n

She added that the industry faces a significant challenge in achieving self-sufficiency in goods and accessing foreign markets with products that meet the highest quality standards and specifications. She affirmed that the Customs Forces and the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization are key partners in enhancing industrial exports.<\/div>\n

The minister reiterated her call for national and foreign investors to engage in real investments, pointing out that there are many supportive legislations, policies, and recommendations encouraging investment, and that 2025 will be the year of industry.<\/div>\n

She also highlighted the formation of an industrial oversight committee that will be responsible for monitoring and inspecting industrial facilities, with participation from all relevant regulatory bodies under the supervision of the Ministry of Industry.<\/div>\n

For his part, Major General Salah Ahmed Ibrahim, Director of the Customs Forces, confirmed their full support for the national industry, protection, and removal of obstacles that hinder its progress, as it represents the backbone of the national economy.<\/div>\n
